Yalbalinga

The Indigenous Support Unit is located on the ground floor of S Block at Strathfield Campus. It serves the needs of all indigenous students enrolled at the two Sydney campuses, providing encouragement and support for them in their studies and a place where they can meet and work on assignments. For those needing tutorial support, the staff of Yalbalinga can arrange for the employment of tutors.

During residential schools for the off-campus students, Yalbalinga organises the program of classes and other events.

The staff of Yalbalinga are available to provide advice and resources to members of staff and students who are studying aspects of Aboriginal life. Yalbalinga works extensively with the New South Wales School of Education, which has large numbers of students in primary and secondary teaching programs.

Yalbalinga also has responsibility for the administration of the Aboriginal Tutorial Assistance Scheme and has links with Weemala, the parallel unit at the Brisbane Campus and Jim-baa-yer at the Melbourne Campus.
