Examination Adjustments

What are Examination Adjustments?

If you have a permanent disability or a chronic medical condition, you may be eligible for examination adjustments. These adjustments include assistance provided by a reader or scribe, ergonomic furniture, specialised software or equipment, etcetera.

How to Apply for Examination Adjustments

To receive an examination adjustment, eligible students must be registered with the campus Disability Adviser within the first three (3) weeks of semester, or as soon as a condition is diagnosed.

Original medical documentation must be provided and applications must be assessed and completed by the Disability Adviser, and approved by the Course Coordinator.

Examination Adjustment applications must be received at the Student Centre by the published due date. Refer to Key Dates - Examinations.  
Students who apply for examination adjustments after the published due date may not receive all adjustments requested.

Temporary Disability or Acute Medical Condition

You may apply for a special adjustment in examination/s because of a temporary disability or acute medical condition by completing Sections A and B of the Application for Special Adjustment/s – Examinations (SA) form.

You must provide original medical documentation and applications must be assessed by the Disability Adviser, who will complete Section C of the SA form. It is important that you notify the Disability Adviser as soon as you become aware that the condition may impede your ability to reasonably complete your examination/s.

You must submit the SA Form to the Student Centre as soon as possible and no later than 24 hours prior to your examination.
