- Details about each scholarship are listed below. Please note that scholarship conditions and application closing dates vary.
Scholarships are competitive; being eligible does not guarantee a scholarship
Meeting the scholarship eligibility criteria does not guarantee that you will be awarded a scholarship.
If you are unsuccessful it does not mean that you are not in need; rather, it means that there were other applicants who have been assessed as being in greater need.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
- Download the application form from the website and complete, making sure that you state the name of the Scholarship for which you are applying.
- If you are applying for more than one scholarship you must submit a separate application for each scholarship.
- There is a specific Application Form for the Gleeson Family Scholarship and it has an earlier closing date.
- Please read the scholarship conditions carefully. If the scholarship considers factors other than academic merit please ensure that you attach the required information.
Supporting Documents
- It is not necessary to provide copies of documents other than those required as part of the Selection Criteria to support your application.
- Be aware that successful applicants will be required to provide copies of other documents that support your application prior to any scholarship payment being made.
Payment
- It is anticipated that the payment will be made in April each year.
- Applicants must be aware that some scholarship payments can affect other income such as Centrelink payments. It is your responsibility to check with Centrelink if this will apply to you.
General Award Rules
- Unless otherwise stated, academic merit will be a determining factor in the awarding of all scholarships, bursaries, prizes or other awards.
- Scholarships, bursaries, prizes and awards are awarded at the discretion of the University and are subject to funding being available.
- An award will not be made if it is considered that there is no candidate of sufficient merit.
- The value of awards is the maximum which may be awarded, based on full-time enrolment by the recipient. The selection committee can also determine that a lesser amount be awarded.
General Scholarship Rules
- Where an award is made "for the length of the course", the applicable period will be the standard duration of the course as specified in the course rules. Where an undergraduate student undertakes a dual degree or honours degree, the award will be for the standard duration of the single undergraduate pass degree only.
- Unless otherwise stated, recipients of awards must be Australian citizens or have Australian Residency status.
- Where an award is made for a continuing period of more than one year, the conditions for continuation of the award for each year will include a requirement that the student gain a minimum grade of Pass in all units in which he/she was enrolled in the previous year. Personal circumstances may be taken into consideration in exceptional circumstances, if the student has not satisfied this requirement.
- Unless otherwise stated, recipients must remain enrolled as full-time students at the campus at which the award was granted.
