The first University web based radio station started in 1999, when St Francis University in Nova Scotia started streaming across the web. It is still running today locally and externally. Australian Catholic University has always looked for interesting and innovative ways to communicate and connect with our student population.  Staff member, Ian Kershaw, (Web CT, St Pat’s) came up with the idea to create a link between the campuses by creating a “Virtual Common Room”.  Initially, Andrew Beiers, Ian Kershaw, Shawn Walker and Eric Robinson put forward a proposal to develop the radio station.  The Vice- Chancellor, Professor Peter Sheehan AO gave support to this idea by funding this exciting initiative in late 2006.

Australian Catholic University National Student Association, (ACUNSA) is managing the publicity and volunteer aspects of the project, generating interest in the project and stimulating community involvement by exploring a name and logo for the Radio Station.  The technical aspects of this radio station are being handled by Paul Campbell and his ITCS team.
