Canon Australia Scholarship

(Established in 2004 by Canon Australia Pty Ltd.)

1. The Scholarship will have a value of up to $1,000.

2. The Scholarship will be open to an Australian student who is studying Japanese at either the Strathfield (Mount Saint Mary) or North Sydney (MacKillop) campuses of the University. Receipt of the Scholarship is subject to the student’s participation in the University’s Exchange Program or a Study Tour organised by the Japanese Studies Program.

3. Applications should include –

  1. evidence of academic merit;
  2. an explanation of how the Scholarship could financially support their intended program of study and/or other evidence of the applicant’s circumstances for the purpose of assessment of financial need; and
  3. a statement of up to 1,200 words outlining clear objectives and short and long-term goals that would be assisted by participation in the Exchange Program or Study Tour to Japan.

4. One Scholarship may be awarded each year on the recommendation of a Selection Committee consisting of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor having responsibility for the Sydney campuses, the Dean, Faculty of Arts and Sciences and the Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Students and Learning).

Applications for 2009 ACU Scholarships and Bursaries are now open and will close 5pm (AEDT) Friday 6 March, 2009.
