Online teaching and learning is a key part of the University’s flexible approach to supporting the student learning experience. As a multi-campus University we invest systematically in online teaching and learning technologies and use these either in fully online units or, in combination with face-to-face teaching in web-enhanced units. This approach seeks to enrich teaching and learning experiences, to create new opportunities for learning, to strengthen and extend learning communities, to promote new ways of communicating and to provide better access to an ever-increasing range of discipline-specific education and research-based pedagogy resources.

The Institute for Advancement of Teaching and Learning, particularly through the role of the Director of Flexible Teaching and Learning, provides overarching co-ordination of the pedagogical, technical and developmental aspects of flexible delivery.
