Deferment

Deferring an undergraduate offer

ACU National allows all domestic students to defer their undergraduate offer for up to:

  • one year if offered to start in semester one
  • six months if offered midyear.

Course availability

Deferment is available for all undergraduate courses in 2008. It is not available for non-award and postgraduate courses.

How to request deferment

  • Direct admission offers: must submit the DEF-form to the Admissions Section or at a Student Centre prior to the first week of the relevant standard study period.
  • QTAC offers: requests are lodged via QTAC's response to web. Responses must be lodged by the QTAC offer response date, as printed on your QTAC offer letter.
  • UAC offers: must submit the DEF-form to the Admissions Section or at a Student Centre prior to the first week of the relevant standard study period.
  • VTAC offers: must submit the DEF-form to the Admissions Section or at a Student Centre prior to the first week of the relevant standard study period.

Late requests for deferment

Late requests may be considered in exceptional circumstances, with appropriate supporting documentation provided with the DEF-form. Note, QTAC students with late requests must lodge the DEF-form.

Notification

You will receive formal notification on your deferment outcome from the Admissions Section by no later than the second week of semester.

If unsuccessful, you will be notified within 14 days from the:

  • Receipt of the DEF-form at the Admissions Section; or
  • Final date to respond to the QTAC offer.
