For Supervisors
As the nominated supervisor responsible for the Workplace Induction of a new staff member, you play a significant role in the induction process.
To ensure that the new staff member is introduced to ACU National as quickly and smoothly as possible and hence becomes a productive member of the University workplace community, the Supervisor’s Induction Checklist and Evaluation has been prepared for you. Prior to the new staff member starting, you should work through the checklist and prepare the workplace for the new staff member.
On the first day and during the first weeks, you are required to provide information about the workplace and the job for the commencing staff member. The Supervisor’s Induction Checklist and Evaluation will assist you with this as well.
Following the new staff member’s first 6 weeks on the job, you are required to complete the Evaluation section of the Supervisor’s Induction Checklist and Evaluation, discuss your evaluation with the new staff member and forward the completed form to your local HR Consultant for placement on the staff member’s file.
It is also important that you encourage and support the new staff member to explore the Web-based Induction material, complete the mandatory on-line programs and to attend the University Orientation sessions in which they have been enrolled.
