Human Resources (HR) is a part of the central administration of the University and as such is led by the Director, Human Resources who is based in the Vice Chancellery. HR is a national organisational unit that is responsible for providing a broad range of human resource management services to staff and management at ACU. HR has service points at MacKillop, Mount Saint Mary, St Patrick's and McAuley at Banyo Campuses to cater for staff and management needs in NSW/ACT, Victoria and Queensland, respectively.
HR Mission:
- is to be valued contributors to ACU's achievement of distinctive, values based educational outcomes through the intellectual depth, expertise and flexibility of its people.
The HR Core Business is working in partnership with ACU's executive, educational leaders and managers to develop and provide:
- Effective Personnel Policies, Processes, Systems and Support Services - which ensure objective, equitable and fair treatment of staff, whilst assisting in developing a performance and quality oriented, innovative and productive and ethical workplace culture;
- Information, Advisory and Liaison Services - being a credible, expert source of information and advice on human resource issues relevant to the strategic future of ACU, and to the enterprise and workplace issues faced by leaders of staff, management and staff generally;
- Personnel Information Systems - accessing or custom designing effective human resource information systems which aid effective decision-making, and the analysis of workforce issues and trends; and
- A Focus for Change - while systematising and consolidating best people management practice, ensuring that ACU's human resource processes also act as a catalyst for productive organisational and skills-based change.
