Computer Relocations
When a computer is to be relocated as part of an office relocation, Campus Operations will move a computer along with the desk, bookshelves etc. If assistance is required to disconnect or reconnect the computer, a Help Desk request should be logged and ITCS will disconnect/reconnect the machine. If a new software set is required, this should also be logged on the Help Desk.
When a computer is to be moved due to a warranty issue or a repair, it is covered by the policy on computer faults.
When a department moves a computer (shuffles a computer or parts of a computer) within their department that is not part of a office relocation (campus ops), the department is responsible for arranging the move. If the department requires ITCS to move IT equipment in this category, ITCS will arrange for the move by an external contractor at the departments expense.
The disposal of old IT equipment is the responsibility of the cost center (department) that owns the equipment.
