Service Desk (Help Desk)
Students
Students with technical problems should see their campus lab support person during normal business hours for assistance. Other assistance for students, or assistance for remote students, can be obtained from the Student Centre on your campus.
Staff
The IT National Service Desk co-ordinates all staff requests for support relating to Email, Software, Virtual Private Network (VPN), VoiceMail, Computers & Equipment, and Web Proxy & internet access.
Service Desk Hours
Service Desk operational hours are:
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am to 7:30pm DST
- Friday: 7:30am to 6:30pm DST

Out of hours calls will be handled immediately on the next working day.
A reminder about Network Maintenance:
The Universitys Computer Network is sophisticated and complicated. Accordingly, there is a necessity to perform regular pre-emptive maintenance of the IT systems/computer networks, in order to minimise the risk of unscheduled outages.
The Universitys Change Control Board with the endorsement of the National Executive have accepted that IT needs to perform scheduled maintenance of the computer network/systems and have agreed that this work can be carried out on Fridays 6:30pm - 10:30pm DST. During this period system or network access may be intermittent or unavailable.
IT will endeavour to inform staff by email when maintenance is scheduled for your campus, but staff should be aware that every Fridays evening is a scheduled downtime period and that staff need to anticipate the possibility of network or systems being unavailable during this time and plan accordingly.
