ITIL Implementation
Project Overview
The IT Directorate has been running a number of projects to implement new processes in line with industry best practice. The Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) best practice framework outlines an extensive set of management procedures that are intended to support businesses in achieving both quality and value in IT operations. In line with the ITIL framework, the IT Directorate have implemented a Service Catalogue listing all services offered and have implemented a new Service Desk system to assist in the development of further service management processes.
Update — November 2008
The next stage of the ITIL Implementation will involve creating and using new processes to manage problems and changes that occur in the IT environment. This will involve a refinement of existing processes and the addition of new initiatives to increase efficiency in these areas.
