Workplace Induction

As one component of the ACU National Induction Program, your nominated supervisor will provide you with a local workplace induction during your first weeks of employment.

The other two components of the ACU National Induction Program are:

Workplace Induction with your nominated supervisor will cover specific details in relation to the following:

  • Your job requirements

  • Local workplace issues/customs

  • Working conditions, processes and procedures

  • Your workstation, email and communication systems

  • Office layout

  • Health and safety

  • Performance Development Framework

For the new staff member, a New staff member – first day/week checklist has been prepared which sets out the basic information to be provided by your nominated supervisor on your first day and during your first week on the job. You can use this Checklist to ensure that your nominated supervisor has covered these items.

Your nominated supervisor is required to complete the Supervisor’s Induction Checklist and Evaluation at the end of your first 6 weeks. In this, your nominated supervisor records the actions taken and the information provided to you in relation to your employment and also provides an Evaluation of your performance during this initial period.
