University Orientation
As one component of the ACU National Induction Program, a number of half-day orientation sessions have been designed to provide new staff with information about the University and the working arrangements.
These are in addition to the other two components of the ACU National Induction Program which are:
University Orientation sessions have been designed for:
- General staff at any level who are new to the University
- All new and recent academic appointees.
The sessions cover the following topics:
Mission Workshop
To provide new staff with information about the history and Mission of the University, its structure and locations, strategic direction, courses it offers, student population, Code of Conduct and future challenges.
Terms and Conditions of Employment *
To provide new staff with more information about the general conditions of employment including information about payroll, types of leave, policies, industrial agreements, study support and financial assistance and accessing employment information through Staff Connect.
Equal Opportunity & Occupational Health & Safety *
To cover aspects of specific legislative and policy in relation to equal opportunity and OH&S and on the staff members responsibilities in relation to such legislation.
Responsibilities of the Supervisor at ACU *
For all newly appointed nominated supervisors at ACU, including Academic Heads of School. To cover the key responsibilities of nominated supervisors in applying and implementing University policies, procedures and legislation.
* Attendance at these Orientation Sessions is compulsory for all eligible staff. Sessions are scheduled at each main campus twice a year. All new staff are enrolled on the next available sessions following commencement of their employment. You can check the status of your enrolment on Staff Connect. Your nominated supervisor will release you to attend these sessions.
