Starting a new position with a new organisation can be an exciting but daunting process. There are colleagues, supervisors and managers to meet, new processes to become familiar with, new offices and buildings to navigate, new software to master, employment conditions to understand and a new job to learn.
Induction at ACU National is our first step in building a two-way relationship between the University and you and makes the transition to the new workplace easier and more effective for both you and for your nominated supervisor.
Staff induction activities are designed to provide you with the information you need, as well as getting you up to speed on how the organisation works.
At ACU National, there are four key components to Induction:
- Workplace Induction
- Web-based Induction
- University Orientation
- Human Resources
Information about each of these components as well as how to get settled at ACU are included at this site. You, as a condition of your employment and as a probation requirement, if you are a probationary staff member, are required to complete an Induction Checklist at the end of three months and return it to HR.
New Academic Staff can find out additional information specific to Teaching and Learning.
Information about the responsibility of the nominated supervisor in relation to induction is also available here.
