Faculty Funding for Academic Staff
The Faculty currently provides funding for academic staff from 4 schemes:

Early Career Research Incentive Awards (ECRIA):
This Award is designed to support Early Career Researchers. Applications are encouraged to work in close collaboration with a mentor (senior researcher). Maximum funding available is $5,000.

Pilot Linkage/Discovery/Commercial Research Projects (PRA):
This award supports high quality collaborative research between higher education institutions and industry with potential benefit. Maximum funding available is $5,000 per year.

Research Seeding Awards (RSA):
The RSA aims to support researchers (both experienced and inexperienced) complete small projecs, apply for large grant applicants, or publish in 'high' level journals. Total funding available is $1,000.

Excellence in Research Award:
The Faculty of Education has established an Excellent in Research award to acknowledge and reward high quality research conducted by staff within the Faculty of Education. The first award includes a monetary award of $2,000.

National Research Conference Reimbursement Support
This support allows academics to participate in 'cutting edge' research and to present their ideas for public scrutiny and feedback. It provides financial support to attend national research conferences which complements the support provided at the University level for international conferences. To apply, complete the National Research Conference Reimbursement Support Form.

Listed below are exemplary models of recent grant applications that have been reviewed by the Faculty Research Standing Committee and awarded funding.
- Associate Professor Maureen Walsh - Pilot Research Grant International Collaboration of "Visual Journeys". A Pilot Research Project to commence in 2008.
- Dr Jo Brady rsj - Early Career Research Incentive Award Project: Oral History of the Sisters of St Joseph, Tasmania, 1938-1998.
Faculty Funding for Students
Postgraduate research students undertaking a thesis/research project with a credit point value of at least 40 can apply. Funding for research and/or conference attendance is $500.
