The decision to study at university is a big one. Secondary school students are faced with many decisions including where to study and what to study. There are also the challenges of a new environment and making new friends.

Encouraging your son or daughter to research options and make informed choices is important.

Choosing the right program

Fees and costs associated with university study include tuition or course fees, amenities fees, and general expenses to cover books, materials and travel. Find out more on university fees and financial support available.

Student Support

One of the big challenges for university students is their choice of course; balancing university study, work, finances, and social/family life. At ACU we have a range of support services available free of charge. Student Services offer programs and individual support which develop the intellectual, personal and spiritual life of students in a community of learning that values equity, social justice, and the dignity of all human beings. This support includes:

Student Associations

All enrolled students have the right to participate in the university associations. The student association is the hub of all our campuses. Each association has an office and enquiry desk, which is a good place to gather information if you are not sure where to go or what services are available on each campus.

Computer and internet access

ITCS along with faculties provides a range of IT services to students on campus and where possible off campus. Students can use computer labs for assignments and to access the university network and software. Students can access most of the University's resources off-campus via the internet.

All students get an email address and a computer account which they can use during the course of their studies. Access to email is generally free to students while on campus. Each campus has a help desk to assist students with IT queries.

Australian Catholic University (ACU) offers a number of scholarships, bursaries and prizes funded by the University Foundation and various benefactors. Some are open to all enrolled students; others are restricted to students in particular courses or at particular campuses. They are given at the discretion of the University and are subject to available funding.

Getting Work

ACU received 5 stars in the Good Universities Guide for Graduate Outcomes. Our students undertake work experience throughout their studies. This practical exposure gives them the opportunity to use their practical skills before they graduate and put them ahead of other graduates in the job market.
